Painter & gallery director.
Married Elizabeth, daughter of gallery John Young, she became well known in SA as an art critic. A skillfull & versatile painter in oils & watercolours, Campbell achieved his first major success with his Streeton-like paintings of Sydney Harbour. His other achievements include organizing the Tate Gallery exhibition of Australian art on behalf of the State & regional galleries.
